- Booking and Deposit
A $2,000 deposit is required at the time of booking. The booking is confirmed only once the deposit and signed Terms & Conditions have been received. The deposit is applied towards the final minimum spend.
- Minimum Spend
The applicable minimum spend will be advised in writing by the Reservations Team at the time of booking. The minimum spend is calculated on food and beverage only (GST inclusive) and does not include the service charge or any applicable surcharges. If actual food and beverage spend on the day falls below the minimum, the shortfall will be charged to the host.
- Payment
The balance of the applicable minimum spend is due 7 days before the event. A Credit Card Authorisation Form is required to cover any additional spend incurred on the day.
An additional 10% surcharge applies on Sundays, and an additional 15% surcharge applies on Public Holidays.
A 10% service charge on the food and beverage amount applies to all bookings.
- Cancellation by the Host
All cancellations must be made in writing to hello@barjulius.com.au. The following cancellation terms apply:
More than 60 days before the event: full refund of the deposit. Between 14 and 59 days before the event: 50% of the deposit is forfeited. Less than 14 days before the event: the full deposit is forfeited.
- Postponement
Postponements are permitted subject to availability. Postponement requests made less than 14 days before the original event date will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
- Cancellation or Changes by Bar Julius
In the unlikely event that Bar Julius needs to make changes to or cancel the reservation, the host will be notified as soon as possible and offered suitable alternatives. If no alternative is agreed, all monies paid (including the deposit) will be refunded in full.
- Guest Numbers and Capacity
Bar Julius accommodates a maximum of 60 seated guests or 80 standing (cocktail style). Guest numbers may be adjusted up until final confirmation, provided the venue capacity is not exceeded. Final numbers must be confirmed 7 days before the event.
- Venue Access and Operating Hours
Bar Julius is available from 11am until 4pm (inclusive of bump-in and bump-out), or from 5pm until 11:30pm (inclusive of bump-in and bump-out, with a 12:30am bump-out available on request). The venue cannot trade past 1am. Lower noise volumes are required after midnight.
- Exclusive Use
When booked on an exclusive-use basis, the venue will not be shared with other functions or members of the public during the booking period.
- Furniture and Setup
All existing furniture must remain in situ and cannot be moved or removed.
- Deliveries and Storage
The venue does not have the facility to take delivery of or store items before or after the event. All decorations, products, and personal items must be removed by the end of the allocated bump-out time. Bar Julius is not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings brought to the venue.
- Decorations
Confetti, open flame, and adhesives are not permitted within the venue. Any other decoration requirements should be discussed with venue management in advance.
- Damage and Cleaning
The host is responsible for any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of the event or the conduct of guests. Charges for damage or additional cleaning will be calculated based on the actual cost of repair or cleaning and charged to the host.
- Smoking and Vaping
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the venue.
- Food and Beverages
The menus and beverage packages provided are sample copies and may be updated seasonally. Final menu selections will be confirmed in writing prior to the event.
Dietary requirements (including allergies and intolerances) must be advised at least 7 days before the event. The venue will endeavour to accommodate shorter-notice requests where possible but cannot guarantee them.
Outside food or drinks are not permitted unless prior arrangements have been made with venue management. BYO arrangements are subject to prior approval and an applicable fee, which will be advised upon enquiry.
- Accessibility
The venue is accessible for guests with mobility needs. Accessible bathroom facilities are located within the adjoining hotel.
- Photography and Marketing
Bar Julius may capture photography or video during private events for marketing purposes only with prior consent from the host. The host and their appointed photographer may capture images and video during the event without restriction. Any commercial use of images or video taken inside the venue requires prior approval from venue management.
- Suppliers and On-Site Management
Hosts are free to engage their own external suppliers (florists, AV, photographers, entertainers, etc.). A venue manager will be on site during the event, though this may not be the same person who managed the booking.
- Insurance
Bar Julius holds current public liability insurance covering the venue and its operations.
- Credit Card Authorisation
A Credit Card Authorisation Form will be required to cover any additional spend incurred on the day. Details of timing, pre-authorisation amounts, and processing will be provided by the Reservations Team.
