This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It also describes how we use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising tools, including the Meta Pixel, to deliver and measure our marketing.
By using our website, making a reservation, joining our mailing list or otherwise providing us with personal information, you agree to your information being handled in accordance with this Policy.

- Device and browser information, such as IP address, browser type, operating system and device identifiers.
- Usage information, such as the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, referring URLs and the links you click.
- Location information derived from your IP address (approximate location only).
- Information about your interactions with our advertising on Meta platforms.
1.3 Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from third parties, including our reservation platform, our loyalty platform, our email marketing provider, payment processors and advertising platforms such as Meta.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- Managing reservations, bookings and event enquiries across our venues.
- Operating our loyalty and membership program, including issuing rewards and personalised offers.
- Processing gift voucher purchases and other transactions.
- Sending marketing communications, including newsletters, promotions and venue updates, where you have opted in.
- Personalising your experience at our venues, including remembering preferences and dietary requirements.

- Complying with our legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
3. Meta advertising and the Meta Pixel
We use Meta Platforms, Inc. (“Meta”) advertising products to promote our venues and measure the effectiveness of our marketing. This section explains in detail how that works.
3.1 What the Meta Pixel is
The Meta Pixel is a small piece of code installed on our website. When you visit our website, the Pixel collects information about your activity and sends it to Meta. This includes:
- Pages you view on our website.
- Actions you take, such as starting a reservation, completing a booking, subscribing to our newsletter or purchasing a gift voucher.
- Technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device information and the date and time of your visit.
- A hashed (pseudonymised) version of identifiers such as your email address, where you provide it through a form on our website.
3.2 How we use Meta tools
We use the information collected through the Meta Pixel and related tools to:
- Show you advertisements for Liquid & Larder venues on Facebook, Instagram and the broader Meta network.
- Build Custom Audiences of people who have visited our website or interacted with our content, so we can deliver more relevant advertising.
- Create Lookalike Audiences of people with similar characteristics to our existing guests.
- Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, including conversion tracking (for example, whether an ad led to a reservation or a newsletter signup).
- Exclude existing guests or members from certain campaigns where appropriate.
3.3 Joint controllership with Meta
For certain processing carried out via the Meta Pixel, Liquid & Larder and Meta act as joint controllers. We are responsible for ensuring we have a lawful basis to collect data through the Pixel and for providing this notice to you. Meta is responsible for the subsequent processing of that data on its platforms. Further information is available in Meta’s Privacy Policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.
3.4 Your choices regarding Meta advertising
You can manage how your information is used for advertising on Meta platforms by:
- Adjusting your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
- Using the controls at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences to see and manage the advertisers showing you ads.
- Opting out of cookies through the banner displayed when you first visit our website, or by changing your browser settings.
- Contacting us using the details below to request that we stop using your information for advertising purposes.
4. Other tracking technologies and third parties
In addition to the Meta Pixel, we use the following tools and service providers that may collect or process personal information:
- Google Analytics: to understand how visitors use our website. See https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- SevenRooms: our reservation and guest management platform. See https://sevenrooms.com/en/privacy-policy.
- Mailchimp (or equivalent email marketing provider): to send and manage our marketing emails.
- Loyalty program platform: to operate our membership program and rewards.
- Payment processors (such as Stripe and Square): to process online payments. We do not store full payment card details on our systems.
These providers handle personal information on our behalf and are required to do so in accordance with our instructions and applicable privacy laws.
5. Sharing information across the Liquid & Larder group
Liquid & Larder operates multiple venues as part of a single hospitality group. By default, personal information collected through our website, loyalty program, marketing channels and most reservations is shared across the group. This allows us to provide a consistent experience, recognise returning guests and tailor our marketing.
Where you have made a reservation through SevenRooms specifically at an individual venue (rather than at a group level) and have not otherwise opted in to group-wide communications, your reservation information will only be used at that venue and will not be shared with other venues in the group for marketing purposes.
If you would prefer that your information not be shared across the group, you can contact us using the details below.
6. When we disclose your information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers and contractors who help us operate our business (including those listed above).
- Advertising platforms, including Meta, for the purposes described in this Policy.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants and auditors.
- Government agencies, regulators and law enforcement, where required or permitted by law.
- Any person to whom we are required or authorised by law to disclose your information.
- A purchaser or potential purchaser of our business or assets.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, including Meta, Google, SevenRooms, our email marketing provider and our payment processors, store and process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient handles your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include physical, technical and administrative safeguards.
We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. When information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
9. Your rights and choices
You have the right to:

We will respond to your request within a reasonable time. There is no fee for making a request, although in some circumstances a reasonable charge may apply for providing access to your information.
10. Children
Our website and marketing are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or other factors. The most current version will always be available on our website, and the “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised.
