High above the buzz of Surry Hills, Lottie pulses with the city—vibrant and aspirational, with an effortless allure. Perched atop The Eve Hotel, this rooftop escape offers more than a wanderlust haven designed for all seasons. It celebrates Mexican cuisine, reimagined with a fresh local lens. Bold, punchy flavours and time-honoured techniques are elevated through exceptional Australian produce—Murray cod from a regenerative farm, free-range pork jowl, and aged beef sourced through our sibling restaurant, Alfie’s. Every ingredient is chosen with intent, each dish crafted with care, and the experience lifted by a spirited agave-led drinks menu.
The experience begins with a trio of complimentary housemade salsas—creamy, spicy, nutty, and sharp—served with crisp tostadas. More than a snack, they’re your seasoning for the rest of the meal. A small, flavourful moment that sets the tone—dining that’s thoughtful, unexpected, and driven by the palate. Dishes are designed to be eaten in one composed bite, where every element plays its part. The prawn and carrot aguachile features salsa macha, pickled jicama and carrot with zesty citrus. The sweetcorn leche de tigre is light and textured—charred corn, morita chilli, and basil layered over zucchini purée—paired with plantain chips for the ideal scoop. The pork jowl, glazed in cola mole, is rich and sticky, offset by the brightness of habanero-pickled fennel. Supporting it all are handmade tortillas, pressed fresh daily from imported Mexican masa. Soft, warm, and comforting—they sit at the heart of the experience.
Lottie is also home to a dedicated Mezcaleria—a defining feature of the venue and a rarity in Sydney. The drinks programme puts agave at the centre, with a considered selection of mezcals, raicillas, and tequila. Cocktails are fresh and produce-led, with ingredients like chamoy, hibiscus, lime, and chilli layered in familiar yet inventive ways. The Margarita list leads with intention—classic, spiced, and seasonal—served icy, textured, and built to match the mood. Alongside the agave-forward heroes, the broader list features natural wines, non-alc options crafted with care, and cocktails that celebrate freshness and colour.
Designed by George Livissianis, the space mirrors the menu: vibrant, tactile, and open to interpretation. Cayenne terrazzo underfoot, soft banquettes, and climbing greenery draw the city skyline into the experience. A rooftop setting that’s equal parts lush and laid-back, with just the right dose of poolside cool. From long lunches to shaved-ice margaritas at sundown, everything gets better up here.
