High above Surry Hills, Lottie pulses with city energy. Perched on the rooftop of The Eve Hotel, it’s a seasonal escape that blends bold Mexican flavours with standout Australian produce. Vibrant, laid-back and full of intent.
Just past the entry, the Mezcaleria sets the tone. It’s the bar at Lottie, and a destination in its own right. A vibrant space pouring mezcals, raicillas and tequilas, alongside a Margarita lineup that is classic, spiced or seasonal. Cocktails follow the rhythm of the produce, layered with hibiscus, chamoy, citrus and chilli. A curated snack menu from the kitchen is also on hand, with small bites like carne apache with salsa macha, guacamole with tortilla crisps and ocean trout tostadas with habanero mandarin.
The dining experience begins with punchy dishes designed to be eaten in one perfect bite. Highlights include kangaroo tail sopes, beetroot empanadas and prawn and carrot aguachile with salsa macha and pickled jicama. The menu builds with shared mains such as Murray cod from a regenerative farm, free-range pork jowl served with cola mole, and a standout beef chop. All designed to be eaten with house made tortillas pressed daily from masa imported from Mexico.
Designed by George Livissianis, the space mirrors the menu. Cayenne terrazzo underfoot, soft banquettes, climbing greenery and skyline views. A rooftop that is tactile, open and just the right amount of poolside cool. From long lunches to icy Margaritas at sundown, everything feels better up here.

What's On
Weekly Sunset DJ Set
As the sun dips over Redfern, Lottie settles into its golden-hour rhythm. Our weekly Sunset DJ Set brings a warm, stylish soundtrack to the rooftop, blending balearic ease with soulful edits, Latin grooves and a touch of afro-jazz. It is music for conversation and clinking glasses, a feel-good flow that lifts the room without ever stealing it. Fridays run 5pm to 9pm, Saturdays and Sundays 3pm to 7pm.
Happy Hour
There’s a particular magic to that first hour after work. The is city unwinding, the light doing its thing. We think it deserves a proper drink. Sunday to Thursday, 5 to 6pm. Select cocktails, snacks, house wine, tap beer and a rotating Agave of the Month to ease you into the night.

Lottie X Maiz Newtown
Lottie X Maiz Newtown
For one night only, two of Sydney’s only hatted Mexican restaurants (Lottie and Maiz Newtown) are cooking side by side.
Joe Valero of Lottie and Juan Carlos Negrete Lopez of Maíz Newtown have been in each other’s worlds long enough to know when something is worth doing properly. Mexico Sin Fronteras (Mexico Without Borders) is that thing. A single shared menu, eighty seats, one Wednesday in July.
The two chefs step into each other’s worlds on the plate. Expect to see something like ceviche negro with tamarind salsa negra, duck carnitas, and jericaya de mesquite to close, to name a few. Hyper-seasonal produce, a distinctly Mexican lens, and the freedom that comes from two people who trust each other’s instincts completely.
Everything arrives shared with your table. The rooftop is fully enclosed and heated, but you’re still under the stars. It’s the middle of winter and there is nowhere better to be.
Eighty seats. One night. It won’t repeat.

"It's hot, will we be comfortable up there?"
Absolutely! We’ve thoughtfully planned for everyone’s comfort with several features to keep the space pleasant throughout the day and evening. The rooftop is equipped with shades that can be drawn both overhead and on the sides to provide coverage from the sun, as well as air conditioning to maintain a cool temperature. We also benefit from natural breezes that flow through the area and we use a flexible mix of these options to ensure everyone stays comfortable no matter the weather conditions.
